Welcome to the New and Improved Tremont Street

While we’re working to make your commute a whole lot easier, this website will give you all the information you’ll need about what’s going on and construction impacts.

Project Purpose: The Tremont Street widening project will improve travel times for everybody, including commuters, as we move to and from the center of the city along Tremont Street. In addition to improved travel times, the project will bring the roadway up to current standards, and these changes will improve safety for all of us, particularly for bicyclists and pedestrians. The roadway will be safer, more serviceable, and will even look better.

A public open house was held at City Hall, Council Chambers on Thursday, July 27th from 6pm to 8pm, to communicate project details and construction updates. Short-duration detours will occur throughout the project. This project website will keep you up to date on detour and closure information. Construction will begin in July 2017 and the new and improved Tremont Street is scheduled for completion in November 2018.
